Note 1:
The aircraft, an ATR 72, was returned after a 4-month
dry leased. The first trend analysis we performed for
the owner showed a fuel flow indication 100 pound above
baseline.
Note 2: The fuel flow gauge was interchanged
with the gauge from the opposite engine.
Note 3: This caused the erroneous indication
to change from RH to LH engine.
Further troubleshooting revealed that the faulty fuel
flow gauge was in fact a gauge for an ATR 42.
Note 4: After the gauge was replaced
with an ATR 72 gauge the trend returned to the baseline
values.
